The ArtistParvin

Parvin grew up in the beauty of the Iranian hillsides with occasional visits to the Caspian Sea on the northern coast — landscapes that left a permanent imprint on how she sees the relationship between land, light, and atmospheric distance.

She emigrated to the United States at age eight, returned to Iran for high school, and came back to study at the Chouinard Art Institute (now California Institute of the Arts), where she majored in Story Illustration. Her time at Chouinard allowed her to master figure and landscape — and her portfolio of figure drawings led directly to a position at an advertising firm immediately upon graduation.

Her career arc moved from story illustration to advertising illustration to fashion illustration, and finally to fine art — each phase building the speed, observational discipline, and command of figure that fine art now draws on. The spatial composition in her landscapes stacks horizontal bands: foreground scrub in deep forest green, middle distance in pale olive and tan, distant mountains in periwinkle blue — each zone flattened against the next so the eye reads space as time of day.

Microsoft and Boeing executives are among her collectors. Her paintings are exhibited in galleries and museums in Florida, Montana, and Washington — and at JG Art Gallery in Bainbridge and Park City.
