Beach Mirror
Red cedar burl, painted cedar, and mirrored glass held together by hand-forged joinery. A vertical form where the grain pulls downward while the mirror fragment opens the surface outward, drawing the room into the piece. McConnell works from salvaged Pacific Northwest old-growth cedar, treating each piece of found material as the starting condition rather than a blank.
