Marie
A woman in a gold coat stands in a red field holding flowers, seen from behind and slightly to one side, mountains low behind her. Twelve by nine. It is the most portrait-like thing Currier has here and she still has her back to us — the coat is the subject, taking the light against all that red, and the title gives her a name the picture withholds a face from.
