Needle in Square
The Space Needle rises through a faceted field of turquoise, magenta and cream, twenty-four inches square. Borcherding is a Seattle painter and this is the city's most photographed object, painted as a set of planes rather than a silhouette. The Needle is barely more emphasised than the buildings around it.
