Nooksack Falls
Water falling between dark basalt into a turquoise pool, painted from location on the Nooksack. Nine by twelve. This is the plein air side of his practice — controlled, in his words, by the subject in front of him rather than the muse within — and the handling is noticeably tighter than his studio impasto, with the rock actually described rather than invented.
