Still Around

Tim McMeans

A donkey's head, drawn in fine grey ink, against two blocks of slate blue on white. Fourteen by eleven. The animal is rendered with real tenderness — the eye, the muzzle, the set of the ears — and set on a ground of almost nothing. The title is doing quiet work; a donkey is a long-lived animal and this one is not young.
