Cozy Corner
An armchair with a white throw, a lamp, a patterned rug, and a shaft of light falling across the floor from the right. The whites in the throw are where the painting lives — Ingalls has said she watches colour temperature as the form reveals itself, and that cloth runs from cool blue-white in shadow to warm cream where the light lands, without ever becoming grey.
